Group Market Development Manager (m/w/d)

Full-time | Permanent

Your tasks across the European-wide OQEMA speciality supplier base

Business Development
  • Engage with the European sales organisation of OQEMA at all levels to define and create the case for development of new business in the area of Paints & Coatings, Construction, Cosmetics & Personal Care, and HI&I
  • Build & Present business cases to the management for approval, manage their delivery and take a lead role in driving all elements of this throughout the organisation
  • Develop further our “forward together” culture to align and synergise new developments across OQEMA
Supplier Relationship Management (SRM)
  • Become the key strategic point of contact for selected key principles within our European specialties business
  • Manage the delivery of business KPI’s and general business targets
  • Develop a central negotiation plan and lead these regular negotiations on price, using standard procurement principles related to market and feed-stock indices
New Sourcing
  • Work with the OQEMA organisation to define new products and suppliers for key development areas
  • Investigate the market for new sources / suppliers of required, and often complementary portfolio items
  • Open and engage in dialogue with development suppliers and principles on a global basis
Existing Sourcing
  • Work with our key principles to secure (growth and sustainability) and protect the business of OQEMA
  • Expand our key principle suppliers throughout our broad geographical and industry network

Your profile

  • Commercially educated / experienced, and proficient - a technical education would be an advantage
  • Product, application and market knowledge within the Specialities business is a must
  • Strong project management skills within a multi-cultural environment
  • Fluent in written and spoken English; German skills would be a plus
  • Willingness to travel abroad (20-30%)
  • Creative, open, and entrepreneurial attitude
  • Following experiences would be an advantage:
    • Experienced in the development of new business and the facilitation of existing
    • Experienced in management and coordination of large supplier accounts
    • Clear understanding of contract implementation and KPI management
