Group Product Manager (m/f/d)
full time (38,5 h/week) | permanent Employment | Korschenbroich

Your impact within the OQEMA Group: 

  • Develop and implement the Group strategy for assigned chemical products and product families, including product positioning, applications and target industries
  • Take ownership of strategic supplier relationships across Europe and act as a key commercial contact for international chemical producers
  • Lead supplier negotiations, develop sourcing strategies and secure competitive purchasing conditions, availability and long-term supply
  • Manage the commercial performance and profitability of the assigned product portfolio, including pricing strategies, margins and profitability targets
  • Identify market opportunities and growth potential based on developments in chemical markets, raw materials, applications, customers and competitors
  • Coordinate European sourcing and product strategies across OQEMA’s operating companies and support their consistent implementation
  • Drive multinational customer opportunities and strategic growth initiatives together with Sales, Key Account Management and Business Development
  • Support demand forecasting, inventory optimisation and working capital management in close cooperation with Supply Chain and local Purchasing teams
  • Monitor chemical market developments, pricing trends, supply situations and competitive activities and translate market intelligence into commercial recommendations
  • Define relevant KPIs, business reviews and performance reports and provide strategic recommendations to senior management
  • Collaborate closely with Local Purchasing, Sales, Supply Chain, Key Account Management, Business Development, Logistics, Finance, Regulatory Affairs and Quality Management

What we are looking for:

  • Degree in Business Administration, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or a comparable field
  • Several years of professional experience in chemical distribution, chemical manufacturing or the industrial raw materials business
  • Strong professional background in Product Management, Strategic Purchasing, Category Management or commercial supplier management within the chemical industry
  • In-depth understanding of chemical distribution markets, including supplier structures, sourcing, pricing mechanisms, applications and customer requirements
  • Established experience in managing relationships and conducting commercial negotiations with chemical manufacturers and suppliers
  • Strong expertise in international sourcing and Supplier Relationship Management
  • Sound understanding of pricing strategies, margins, profitability and P&L-related KPIs
  • Experience in portfolio management, demand planning, inventory management and working capital optimisation
  • Ability to analyse chemical market trends, raw material developments and competitive dynamics and translate them into commercial actions
  • Strong commercial judgement, analytical capabilities and negotiation skills
  • Experience working across international and cross-functional organisations
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with a high degree of ownership and result orientation
  • Fluent English; German language skills are an advantage
  • Willingness to travel within Europe
